Time Clock Policy and Procedures

What non-exempt employees are required to do when clocking in and out, and what happens if the policy isn't followed.

Policy

The law requires all FLSA non-exempt employees to record daily hours worked. We use Square to record hours, though that may change over time. Every employee is responsible for the accuracy of their own hours and role.

Procedure

Effective March 8, 2022:

  1. Clock in at the start of your shift and clock out at the end.
  2. Clock in for the correct role at the correct location - double check both before confirming.
  3. Clock out any time you leave the work site for a reason other than assigned work duties.
  4. Don't clock in more than 5 minutes before or after your shift start without manager permission.
  5. Don't clock out more than 5 minutes before or after your shift end without manager permission.
  6. Stay clocked in for mandatory meetings.
  7. Actual hours worked beyond 40 per week are paid at time-and-a-half.

Failure to follow these procedures may result in disciplinary action. No employee may clock in or out for another employee under any circumstances.
