Brewery Weekly Checklist
Day-by-day recurring tasks for brewers and the head brewer, covering daily checks, packaging prep, and monthly inventory items.
- Check spent grain bins and report to Devo.
- Call Willenta to schedule the week's pickups.
- Check CO2 and LPG amounts, ping Matt in Slack with levels.
- Call Liberty Gas to order LPG.
- Chemical inventory check - report to Matt if anything needs to be ordered.
- Daily temperature, gravity, and pH check on all active tanks.
- Canning day prep: cans, PakTeks, ends, and labels, 225 to 333.
- Print weekly shipments paperwork (if not done the previous Friday).
- 225 inventory.
- Keg fills and post splits, if applicable.
- Drive kegs from 333 to 225 and prep cold storage space for cans filled Tuesday.
- Blow down boiler at end of day.
- Daily temperature, gravity, and pH check on all active tanks.
- Finalize pallets for Wednesday shipments - wrapped, paperwork attached, ready to ship.
- Blow down boiler at end of day.
- Physically count packaging materials, report numbers in Slack and ping Matt.
- Mid-week clean cooperage count - report numbers in Slack and ping Matt.
- Daily temperature, gravity, and pH check on all active tanks.
- Carb checks on next week's packaging brands - start carbing if low.
- Quality check and tasting notes (if needed) for next week's packaging brands.
- Blow down boiler at end of day.

- Confirm the whiteboard is accurate.
- End-of-week clean cooperage count (second of the week) - report numbers in Slack and ping Matt.
- Create hop pick list.
- Pull hops for the following week's brews/dry hops and bring to 333.
- Finalize carbs for the upcoming week.
- Sanitize keg fillers for Monday packaging.
- Print stickers for the following week.
- Print weekly shipments paperwork (if ready).
- Tasting notes for new beers.
- Blow down boiler at end of day.
- Daily temperature, gravity, and pH check on all active tanks.
- Confirm carbs first thing in the morning.
- Prep all shipments during packaging.
- Report final packaging numbers in #packaging-splits-brooklyn.
- Hop inventory - add to Inventory tab, ping Matt when finished.
- Malt inventory - add to Inventory tab, ping Matt when finished.
- Check glycol level and reading, add to Glycol Tracker doc.
- Blow down boiler.
- Clean brewhouse and hoses.
- Set FV temp.
- Make sure the blowoff arm is open and in sanitizer.
Monday: Order packaging materials through Lindenmeyer (the week prior to canning). Follow up with Union/Microstar to confirm cooperage inbound (on weeks cooperage was ordered). Submit the week's cooperage cleaning numbers to #cooperage-planning.
Tuesday: On canning days, take final packaging numbers from #packaging-splits, add to Batch Splits, and reduce inventory. On brew days, reduce malt, hops, and dry hops inventory.
Wednesday: On brew days, reduce malt, hops, and dry hops inventory. Reconcile packaging material numbers in inventory on canning weeks.
Thursday: On brew days, reduce malt, hops, and dry hops inventory.
Friday: On brew days, reduce malt, hops, and dry hops inventory. Create and finalize brew sheets for the upcoming week.
Weekly: Write and send brewery education emails. Prep for weekly meetings.
Monthly: Reconcile end-of-month hop and malt inventory numbers.
If a recurring task gets missed, note it in the relevant Slack channel so the next person in the rotation knows to catch it up - don't just skip to the following week.
